After eating, there was a short presentation on Kotex new products. Singapore is the 1st country in Asia to lauch the Kotex luxe, it is an ultrathin pad with beautiful designs! It will surely brighten up your monthly grouchiness. :p

Thereafter, we proceeded to the al-fresco area outside for some work. We split into our different groups to let our creativity run wild! We were given a big board with different materials to decorate.

The other groups had candies, fur, glitter. But for the yellow group, we only had crayons and buttons.
Well, we had to make do with what we have.

Flea flea flea

Sweet Dancing Ballerina will be having a booth at Supper Club (odeon towers) this coming sunday. It is from 12pm-7pm. There'll be a total of 70 booths so be sure to join in the fun! What's more, it is an indoor event with air con. So the rain won't bring the flea down. :P

Hopefully it'll be much better than the previous flea at Home Club where the response was really bad. So far the organisers have been quite good i must say. Their response is fast, polite and very friendly. They don't send spam too..hehehe.

There'll be more items for sale this time. Some items for sale are like pouches, wallets, nail art sticker, hair bands, fake eyelashes, earrings, and much more! Prices start from $1. I'll post up some of the pictures soon.

Home Club Flea Rant

Here's my personal review of the flea at Home Club on 22nd May.

I rented a booth so this is my opinion on what i feel as a vendor.

Setup- we were told to reach by 12pm,1 hour before the event starts to set up.

I reached before 12pm and was sitting around for the person in charge to give instructions.

When it was almost 12, the guy probably from urban entertainment told everyone that the person is late.

The staff from Home Club reached maybe around 12.20pm. Then they started to put the tables and chairs out. The staff from urban entertainment labelled the tables with numbers from like 1-50. By that time, people were already lining up to get registered and get their booths. By that time, it was already 1pm. Bad arrangement!

Allocation of booths- it was supposed to be random on the day itself. But guess what, first come first served. The ones in front could basically pick the spot that they like first. The rest in the queue just have to choose from what's left. I mean why state in the terms if it is not fufilled? Makes no sense to me at all.

Size of table- 3 ft by 3 ft. Tell me how is a round table supposed to be 3 by 3? And it's not 3 ft X 3ft.

Traffic flow- one word sums it up: pathetic. There was supposed to be flyers distributed out to inform people about this flea. But I doubt so judging from the number of people who came. I only sold $30 worth of items. If my aunt didn't offer to split the rental, I would have suffered a loss! But basically i only made $10 excluding food, carpark, etc. I believe some stalls didn't even sell a thing!

In case of rain- all organisers should have a backup plan as to where should vendors move in the event of rain. It drizzled and those who were not in the shelter scrambled to find space inside. We were then told not to block the passage to the apartments. They told us we could move to the corner space which I don't think anyone would pass by.

It was also stated in the terms and conditions that refund can only be due to insufficient response. They stated as insufficient respond. I mean if you want to be professional, at least find someone with good english to write those stuff. How do you define insufficient response?

Urban entertainment likes to spam people's mail. Because i enquired about the booths using two different email accounts. They sent me several emails over the week so I told them to stop flooding my email because I already know or something like that. Guess what they said? I shouldn't have used 2 accounts to register.

I didn't register using both accounts. I merely enquired because my question wasn't answered in one of the mail. Best part is after that, they STILL emailed to both my accounts! So irritating.

Overall flea of Home Club flea and urban entertainment- needs tremendous improvement. After all this nonsense, i suffered from sun burn which made the whole experience even worse. So i would seriously not have another flea at Home Club and with urban entertainment.

I hate being cheated and lied to. Why list out all the T&Cs but it was not fufilled?

1. Prepare half a cup of hot water.
Put a few rose buds into the hot water and let brew for a while. You can tell when the rose changes colour.

2. Take a tablespoonful of honey.
*I like it sweet but you can adjust the amount of honey to your prference or choose not to add any.

3. Add in honey and mix till melted.

4. Add in more water and stir well.
* water can be at room temperature or cold water is also fine. Add ice if desired.

Enjoy your tea!

My review: Tea looks pretty. Sweet smelling. Taste fragrant without leaving a bitter aftertaste. Very mild and smooth.

Prevent premature aging now

Sun damage can cause premature aging such as pigmentation and lines. Research shows 90 percent of wrinkles are caused by the sun's UVA light and sun damage is the #1 cause of premature aging in women and men.

Why are UVA rays so bad? Even at low-level exposures, UVA light breaks down collagen, which causes wrinkles. Even worse, scientists have found that UVA is the main culprit for many melanomas because it reaches deep into the underlying support structure of the skin. It causes pigmentation spots such as freckles.

Isn't it scary to look like 35 when in fact you are only 25?

What is SPF?

SPF- sun protection factor

The higher the SPF, the more protection a sunscreen offers against UV-B (the ultraviolet radiation that causes sunburn).

What does PA+++ mean?

Apart from SPF, some sunscreen labels also list a "PA" ranking. While SPF indicates how much the product can protect you from UVB, PA on the other hand refers to the amount of protection the sunscreen offers against UVA rays, Dr Nussra notes. You will see PA+, PA++ and PA+++. More plus symbols mean more protection from UVA.

UVA exposure also is known to lead to signs of premature aging of the skin such as wrinkling and age spots. The UVB rays are the sun's burning rays (which are blocked by window glass) and are the primary cause of sunburn. Excessive exposure to both forms of UV rays can lead to the development of skin cancer. So prevention is better than cure. Do apply sunblock always.

After using it, my face feels smoother, brighter and pores are refined. Skin is also less oily. What's more, it can be used as a makeup base! Isn't it great?

How to use:

1.Start with a clean face.

It should be cleansed, toned and moisturized.

2. Put a suitable amount of sunscreen/ sunblock on the back of your hand

3. Apply and spread evenly on face

4. Done. Face is instantly brighter.

Continue with makeup if desired.

It is definitely important to keep the romance going in relationships no matter how long it has been. Otherwise, it'll just die off. We often forget lessons learnt and like to take things for granted. Perhaps it is just plain laziness to make effort to do something for each other. It can be something very simple. Well now you can. Always envy those who have mesmerizing pretty eyes? Most of us are not born with big eyes like Ayumi Hamasaki. But fret not. We can use makeup to enhance our looks. With the correct products and makeup techniques, you can be sure to look pretty too.

Be the centre of attention!

I personally prefer the easy way out. I am lazy and want something fast but can still produce results. This mini glitter eyeliner is one product which i absolutely adore! It has a smooth glide, easy to apply and gives a wide eye dolly look.

Basically u just have to draw top eyeliner and apply mascara. For a more dramatic effect, simply draw on the bottom as well. I used this eyeliner for my tutorial in the previous post.

Easy glam up for dinner/ clubbing

I'm very lazy and seldom put on heavy makeup. I prefer fast and easy ways to glam my look. There are no ugly women. Only lazy ones. How true this is. Proper techniques will surely help to beautify us even more.
Makeup can transform and empower!

Before putting on makeup, of course we need to do the basics first.

Cleanse-using a cleanser suitable for your skin and your needs
Tone-to remove dead skin cells
Moisturize-to provide sufficient moisture for your skin
Protect- sunscreen to provide SPF.

Myth: Oily skin does not need moisturizer.

WRONG

Moisturizing is important as it provides the necessary moisture for your skin. If u skip moisturizer, the skin may produce even MORE sebum( oil secretion) to protect the skin against dryness. Those with oily skin can choose a water based moisturizer. Personally i just use aloe vera as i hate products with alcohol and oil.

Sunscreen is extremely important because we face so much uv rays daily. Uv rays can cause pigmentation such as freckles, etc. By the time those spots appear, it'll be difficult for them to go. The damage has been done. Whitening will not be very effective by then. Haven't you heard that prevention is better than cure?

Ok. Now for the simple makeup steps!

My nude face:

Shallow skin
tired eyes
lifeless complexion

I'm using BB cream. All you need is just a small amount. BB creams usually provide light-medium coverage.

Spread the BB cream all over your face.

Areas to cover:

Forehead, Cheeks, Nose, Chin

Use foundation sponge/ wedge to apply evenly onto your face.
Take note of areas such as sides of nose, sides of mouth, undereye area. Blend well into skin and spreading it in an outward direction.

I felt that i needed more coverage for the eye bags.
So i dabbed a little concealer on the undereye area
.
You can choose to blend it with your fingers/ brush.
Fingers: Use your ring finger and lightly pat to spread.
Then use an upward, outward motion to blend.

*Remember to blend well and choose the correct shade.
Otherwise, a white patch will show in photos.

Set with loose powder.

Apply eyeshadow on your eyelids.

For me, i used a white eyeshaow with shimmer.

Do not OD(overdo) on eyeshadow, esp those which are highly pigmented or contains glitter. You wouldn't want to look wayang or like a geisha

Draw black eyeliner on the top.

You can choose pencil, gel or liquid.

Pencil is the easiest to use.

You can slowly build on the intensity and thickness of the line.

A clean look.

For a more dramatic look, continue to next step.

Draw black eyeliner on the bottom outer corner about 1/3-1/2 of the lashline. Draw white eyeliner on the remaining inner portion.
White helps to open the eyes.

Apply mascara, blusher and lipgloss.

Tadah!

You are done and all ready to partyy! :)
